CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
Yoga for a Healthy, Happy Back with Carolyn Purvis: All Levels
This class is a well rounded yoga practice with an emphasis on providing loving care for
the back. All students are welcome, especially those who are currently experiencing
back pain. Most people experience back pain in their lifetime. Yoga can help reduce
chronic back pain and guide you into a better posture that will serve you in a healthy,
happy life. This class explores yoga asanas (poses) that strengthen, and retrain the back
and pelvis, breath practice, guided meditation and therapeutic methods in a beginner to
moderate paced practice.
Svaroopa Yoga with Stephanie Clement: All Levels
Svaroopa Yoga classes begin with a guided awareness while lying in Shavasana, Yoga's
Relaxation Pose, and (Pranayama) breath practice. The classes progress into a very
gentle and well supported practice of (asana) yoga poses. The practice of Svaroopa
yoga is a core opening practice which opens and releases built up tensions held along
the muscles of the spine. Using blankets and props for support, your body settles and
softens into each pose. As the body releases the habitual physical, and mental tension
patterns, the mind becomes quiet, still and steady... uncovering the essence of your true
nature.
Early Morning Yoga with Carolyn: All Levels
Start your morning off with mental clarity and physically energized! Move through your
day more balanced and with ease. Yoga asana (poses), breath and relaxation comprise
this class.
Yoga & Breath (Pranayama) with Arvind Chhiba: All Levels
This class is a classical Hatha Yoga Class consisting of warm up and yoga asana (poses)
for the first part of class and then moves into a breath practice to develop easier
breathing, clarity of mind, strength and stamina. After completing the breath practice
you relax in Shavasana (yoga's relaxation pose) and allow your practice to integrate fully
as you become aware of the effects of your yoga practice. Settle into your evening
refreshed, relaxed and prepared for the week ahead!
Grounded GrownUps with Stephanie Clement: Beginners/Intermediate
The Grounded grownups class introduces you to alignment, form, and fun! Class starts
with a theme incorporating daily life into the practice of yoga and brings your awareness
to your breath in a warmup to get started. Yoga asanas (poses) are then fully explained
and explored at a pace where questions can be asked and the postures understood both
physically and mentally. Find stability, freedom, and so much more as you gain a
complete understanding of yoga.
Meditation with Stephanie Clement: All are welcome
This class consists of a beginning guided meditation, discussion of a topic for the
evening and a second meditation. The class ends in Shavasana (yoga's relaxation pose)
to fully integrate your meditation into your daily life.
Please see our meditation section for complete details.
Vinyasa with Susan Palace: Intermediate/Advanced
This is a Hatha yoga practice that links movement and breath. A flow yoga class
focusing on the dynamic aspects of an asana (yoga poses) practice. The class consists
of "flowing" from pose to pose in a series of movements coupled with breath.
Grounded Yoga for Kids, Tweens and Teens with Amy Haysman
Please see our kids yoga section for complete details
