Grounded Yoga for Kids, Tweens and Teens

"Yoga is a gift of mindfulness that can help bring active minds into union with active bodies and can help
both young and old alike learn to discipline both. Our purpose is to teach and share the transformational
benefits of yoga with children, teachers and parents seeking balance in their lives. To give them tools to
manage their physical and emotional responses to life. Encouraging them to reach for the wisdom within
themselves which will enable them to connect with their bodies and feel empowered and confident. Inspired
by the children and the adults in our lives, we've created unique programs where we all get grounded, have
the freedom to laugh about it and ultimately enjoy the elevation that comes with the practice of Yoga."

Grounded Kids (ages 5-7) Grounded Tweens( ages 8 - 11)
•Yoga: Students will practice breathing techniques, poses, games, activities, relaxation, and visualization.
•Multiple Intelligences Theory: The program allows all students to flourish by honoring their individual
learning styles.
•Curriculum Integration: All basic school curriculum areas are addressed, as well as classroom management,
test preparation, fitness, and environmental and multicultural education.
•Character Education: Yoga is traditionally associated with the development of positive traits such as
confidence, compassion, respect, tolerance, patience, and nonviolence.

Grounded Teens ( ages 12 - 15)
Today's students often face a long sedentary day sitting at a desk. Some do not even have Physical
Education. Classes for Pre-teens and Teens will integrate a deeper understanding of the physical and
philosophical aspects of yoga as well as help pre-teens and teens to discover self confidence, positive body
health and awareness, emotional balance and tools for stress management. While building strength, balance
and concentration, classes will also utilize expressive art, music, writing and discussion to help foster an
environment of cooperation and inner well-being.

Summer Kids Yoga and The Arts Camp

When I approach a child, he inspires in me two sentiments; tenderness for what he is, and respect for
what he may become. Pasteur

Educating the Body, Mind and Heart through Yoga and The Arts

Explore, Experience, Discover... You

Stillness Yoga & Meditation Center is pleased to offer Kids Yoga & The Arts Camp 2009. Children will
have the opportunity to explore who they are from the inside out through yoga, visual and performing arts.
Watch your child's confidence and courage grow as he/she begins to experience the essence of who they
truly are within nature, group activities, and individual reflective moments. Day by day they will discover that
they are filled with compassion, creativity, and joy. Focusing on their inherent nature of truth, nonviolence,
peace and unity - they will gain an understanding of who they are in relation to others, and the world around
them through the lens of self discovery, yoga and the arts.
